And everyone is glad after the winter we've had, including these cardinals living a few blocks apart in Middle Village. Both males, they're on the prowl, each looking for that special someone to settle down with for the season and raise a family. And they do it all without Facebook, Twitter or any of that.

At the Queens Chronicle, we're starting to prepare for our annual Spring Guide, a special supplement full of activities, fashion ideas, sports and more. It'll hit the newsstands April 10. Be sure to keep an eye out for it.

And for birds building nests. It's that time of year, at last.

Though there is a chance of snow Tuesday and Wednesday. Should we not have mentioned that?
