Anthony Padro Jr., second from right, a senior at Christ the King High School in Middle Village, recently received his acceptance certificate from the U.S. Marine Corps from Marine Sgt. Philip Perscepe.
Anthony, a Maspeth resident, will be reporting to Marine boot camp at Parris Island, SC, this coming August for 13 weeks of basic training. Parris Island serves as the training site for all Marine recruits who enlist east of the Mississippi River.
Also present were Marine Gunnery Sgt. Elvi Batista and Christ the King Assistant Principal Carol Timpone.
