On Saturday, at 10:30 a.m., the 83rd Precinct responded to a call to a home on Wilson Avenue in Brooklyn, where officers found a 27-year-old black male who suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks. The victim was uncooperative but eventually told police he was shot in Ridgewood near the intersection of Cooper and Cypress avenues.

The 104th Precinct conducted an investigation there. Officers interviewed several bystanders who were near the location of the incident but no one reported witnessing a shooting or anything abnormal.

After the initial investigation of the alleged crime scene, officers reported to Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn to interview the victim once more. However, several times during the interview the victim changed his story as to what actually happened and where the incident occurred.

During questioning, the victim again became uncooperative and left the hospital without further explanation less than an hour after admittance. The 104th Precinct is continuing the investigation and precinct personnel have increased enforcement and patrols in the area.
