A 32-year-old man was killed early Monday morning in a hit-and-run collision in Maspeth.

According to authorities, Karoll Grzegorczyk, of Ridgewood, was attempting to cross Fresh Pond Road in the middle of the block between 60th Drive and Eliot Avenue when he was struck by a dark-colored sedan traveling southbound on Fresh Pond Road shortly before 3 a.m.

The driver of the car fled the scene and when police arrived, Grzegorczyk was found lying unconscious and unresponsive on the roadway with trauma all over his body.

He was transported by emergency personnel to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

Authorities said Grzegorczyk had just emerged onto the street from between parked cars when he was struck by the vehicle.

Police have not yet apprehended a suspect.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
