Three students from Christ the King High School in Middle Village were named winners of the recent Brooklyn Diocese High School Press Awards contest.

Sponsored by the Diocese newspaper, The Tablet, the contest involves students from Catholic schools throughout Brooklyn and Queens. The Tablet editorial staff chooses the winners based on the quality of their work and how it serves the student body.

The honorees from CTK were sophomore Stephen Leback, second from left, winner in the Best Multi Photo Display category; junior Katherine Mendez, who took Best Photo honors; and sophomore Robert Neidkowski, who won the Roger Payne Memorial Award for Best Column — for a second time.

They are joined here by John Daxland, moderator of CTK’s Journalism Club and its newspaper, The Royal Times.
