The New York Mets, including pitchers Dillon Gee and Bobby Parnell, will assist Queens residents affected by Hurricane Sandy on Wednesday.
The Mets will host a food drive for City Harvest from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hodges VIP entrance at Citi Field. Gee and Parnell will assist with collection of nonperishable food donations from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Fans bringing 10 or more items of nonperishable, nutritious food will receive a voucher redeemable for one pair of tickets to a select Mets game in April 2013.
The two hurlers are then scheduled to deliver donations of bottled water, shovels and brooms to the Rockaway Point Volunteer Fire Department on Rockaway Point Boulevard from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
