Police this week were asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and tracking down a suspect wanted in connection with a string of violent muggings spanning the past two weeks and three borough precincts.
In each of the 10 reported attacks, cops said, the perp approached women of various ages and ethnicities, assaulted and robbed them. In some of the incidents, victims were punched prior to having their belongings taken.
The attacks — three in Flushing, three in Forest Hills, three in Rego Park and one in Corona — occurred mostly at night between Jan. 2 and last Sunday.
The suspect, above, was described as a male Hispanic, between 30 and 35, approximately 5 feet 9 inches, with a thin build, curly hair and wearing a black workout jacket with two red stripes on the front.
Anyone with information was asked to call Crimestoppers at 1 (800) 577-TIPS (8477), log onto nypdcrimestoppers.com or text tips to 274637 and enter TIP577. All correspondences are strictly confidential.
