A Staten Island man was arrested and charged in connection with a robbery at Chase Bank at 66-02 Grand Ave. in Maspeth on Tuesday.

According to police, Jimmie Knight, 56, entered the bank at approximately 3:30 p.m. and simulated having a weapon inside his coat pocket. Knight left the bank after stealing an unknown amount of money, police said.

After witnesses at the scene provided the responding officers with a description of the suspect, Knight was stopped by police at the intersection of 64th Street and Grand Avenue a short time later, police said.

Witnesses positively identified Knight as the perpetrator and he was taken into custody, according to authorities.

Knight was charged with robbery, menacing, criminal possession of stolen property and harrassment.
