and what if she is right. Its November 9th, the end of the week and I still don't have power. and mamcita...the looters are crossing 116th st..??? wreaking havoc?Yes, let's make sure the citizens of rock park, belle harbot and neponsit and breezy are protected after all you are better than everybody else!
Editor's note: Two things — one, despite the user name, this comment was not posted by the Queens Chronicle. Two, Marshall's office later admitted that she misspoke. http://www.qchron.com/editions/queenswide/marshall-misspoke-on-rockaway-electricity/article_dd1bfde4-5fb5-55c1-8c31-35594b60fdcc.html

I think it's time for a new borough president................Ms. Marshall doesn't seem to be dealing with reality. She's worried about garbage on the street but isn't demanding more sanitation trucks. does she expect people to live with wet furniture in their freezing houses? Rockaway is always the last to receive ANY city service so this doesn't surprise me. They're the last for snow removal and trash removal. She should have had police assigned to the entrance to the Rockaway Park, Belle Harbor, Neponsit & Breezy. The looters are crossing 116th St. and wreaking havoc on the citizens there. it would have been an easy street to secure

All residents in Rockaways, we should start gathering info about the people who died out of coldness because of LIPA's malfunctioning. 7 weeks is outrageous and we need to get together to fight for our rights. I am in 11691 and every time I called LIPA, they said they didn't have any timetable yet. We should keep all the receipts, the people who fell ill because of no power, and we should file a class action lawsuit against LIPA if they don't give us a timetable. Living in the freezing temperature is just unbearable.

I'm a resident of Far Rockaway and have lived there for over 25 years. Helen Marshall
Is definitely not a Marty Markowitz. I have never voted for her but if she decides to run in the next local election, please note it's a NO vote from this constitute. Her interview on 1010's news was very embarrassing and she needs to resign as Queens Borough President. [ban]

[sad] Absolutely ridiculous. Moneyed areas are getting help while Rockaway Beach falls by the wayside. We are displaced from there and can't even get back home to see if we have a home left. So much for a holiday season this year. LIPA needs to be held accountable.
