The Maspeth community and city, state and federal elected officials last Sunday gathered at the Frank Kowalinski American Legion Post for the installation of Assemblywoman Marge Markey (D-Maspeth), who has represented the 30th District for the past 12 years.

Markey’s husband, Supreme Court Justice Charles Markey, administered the oath of office as the assemblywoman embarked on her seventh term in Albany.

Joining Markey, center, at the Maspeth Avenue post were Scoutmaster Fred Coltrinari, far right, and members of Boy Scout Troop 45, City Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley (D-Middle Village), third from right, and U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer (D-New York).

Also in attendance were representatives Joseph Crowley (D-Queens and Bronx), Nydia Velazquez (D-Queens and Brooklyn) and Anthony Weiner (D-Queens and Brooklyn), assemblymembers Mike Miller (D-Woodhaven), Michael DenDekker (D-Jackson Heights) and David Weprin (D-Little Neck), and state Sen. Toby Stavisky (D-Flushing).

Welcome to the discussion.
