Dawn Simon, marketing manager of Queens Center Mall, presented a check last Wednesday for $100,000 on behalf of the Macerich Company for the Fund for Public Schools.
The Macerich Company owns and operates Queens Center Mall, which is located at the intersections of Queens and Woodhaven Boulevards.
The donation will help fund music programs throughout the borough of Queens. The check was accepted by Leslie Koch, chief executive officer of the Fund for Public Schools.
Among the programs the Macerich Company helps to fund are a Music Teacher of the Year award and “Rhythm Quest,” a youth jazz ensemble from the Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music.
