Although this article is old, it's always good to look back at these articles when Kissena was a little better than what is now in 2013. My parents own the Chinese take-out restaurant, and have decided to do what most business owners did around here: close the business. The landlord is unreachable, and we've had no lease for about 8 years now. Although my heart breaks from the separation of me and my childhood lifestyle here (I'm still at tender age of being a teenager), it's the only thing we can do. The neighboring business owners on the same block are well acquainted with my parents, and can only the chose between two things: close their business, or suffer from the high rent payment and bills. Sadly, Kissena Blvd. is not the proud self it was when I was just a young child. Also, I am sad to announce the day of the closing of Great Wall Kitchen II to be on July 31st, 2013. But, don't worry, me, my brother, and my parents will be around once in a while to shop, chat with friends and business owners, and see what will become of Kissena Blvd.
