For those youngsters who love arts and crafts, Cinemas Park, near the intersection of Austin Street and Lefferts Boulevard in Kew Gardens, was the place to be Sunday.

Hosted by the Kew Gardens Council for Recreation and the Arts and the Citizens Committee for New York City, dozens of children enjoyed painting pictures and even their own faces at the sixth annual Kids Art in the Park Day.

Arts and crafts workshops, story readings and other artistic activities proved very popular at the free event, as children made characters out of brown paper bags and helped take part in a large-scale mural painting, the most popular event of the day.
