A Kew Gardens resident is among five finalists in the city’s condom design contest.
Luis Acosta, a 29-year-old graphic designer, was among a group of artists selected by the Department of Health to develop a new look for the agency’s free-condom program.
Acosta said his design, above, modeled after a universal power symbol, represents the power to take control.
The free-condom program is designed to promote safe sex and limit the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
The agency has received more than 600 submissions since the contest began in December. A winning design will be selected through a vote on the DOH website at nyc.gov/health. The online poll will be available through Feb. 28.
