Frank Kotnik wants to brag that his block is the most patriotic in Glendale, or even all of Queens, unless someone shows him a picture that proves him wrong.

While admiring the flags he’d mounted on the houses of 67th Street one morning, Kotnik said he realized that Flag Day is approaching, and decided to start a contest.

Kotnik’s co-worker at the DOT lives on 76th Street, which also has a lot of flags, so he challenged his friend to see whose block has more American flags flying by June 14.

“There’s no prize, just bragging rights,” Kotnik said.

Kotnik said he’s been putting notes on his flag-less neighbors’ mailboxes offering to mount their flags for them.

Anyone who wishes to challenge Kotnik can email him a photo at frankakotnikjr@aol.com.
