Having surgery can be a scary proposition for most people, that’s why it is important to consult an experienced, trustworthy physician. There is perhaps no one that embodies both those qualities more than Dr. Sang Pak, a general surgeon practicing in Queens for the past 13 years.
Pak recently completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery. That advanced training allows him to care for complex cases with minimally invasive techniques in laparoscopy.
The scope of his practice encompasses all aspects of general surgery — gall bladder, stomach, hernias and intestinal complaints, along with soft-tissue surgery. He employs all methods for treating hemorrhoids, including innovative in-office laser procedures. Pak also performs in-office soft tissue surgery for lump removal.
His offices are managed by his wife, Joy, a certified operating room registered nurse. Pak’s staffers can translate for both Spanish- and Korean-speaking clients.
“The patients are amazed by the personal attention they get at this office,” Joy Pak said. “I know every patient. I speak to them face-to-face. They have my name, the office number and my cell phone number. They can talk to me day or night. They don’t get transferred around to a dozen different people. Either I or Dr. Pak speaks directly to them.”
Many patients experience quick recoveries as a result of Pak’s innovative in-office procedures, which save clients the hassle, expense and longer recovery time often experienced at hospitals.
Pak, who is on staff at New York Hospital Queens, has two borough locations — one at 163-32 Northern Blvd, Suite 2F, in Flushing and the other at 108-10 72 Ave. in Forest Hills.
Patients can see Dr. Pak the same-day and Saturday appointments are available. He accepts most insurance. For an appointment, call (718) 762-5520 for his Flushing office and (718) 986-3133 for Forest Hills.
