A cyclist was killed in a hit-and-run collision at the intersection of Borden and Maurice Avenues in Maspeth on Nov. 27.

Fifty-four-year-old Pedro Lopez, of 86-34 Saint James Avenue in Elmhurst, was crossing from the south side of Borden Avenue to the north side on Wednesday afternoon when, police say, he was struck by a white commercial truck as it turned from Maurice Avenue onto Borden Avenue.

The vehicle fled the scene and when officers responded to the incident at 4:54 p.m., Lopez was unconscious, according to police.

The victim was transported to Elmhurst General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.
