Last Friday, Councilman Elizabeth Crowley visited PS 229 in Woodside and spoke at the school’s annual Parent Volunteer Breakfast about the new full-day prekindergarten seats coming as part of Mayor de Blasio’s universal pre-K plan this September.

PS 229 will be getting 36 new full-day pre-K seats, which currently has only a half-day program

“Every single four-year-old in New York City will soon have access to the early education that studies show is a strong indicator of a child’s lifetime learning,” Crowley said.

More than 1,200 pre-K seats will be allotted throughout Queens.

Welcome to the discussion.
