Crime-filled weekend in the 104th Precinct

One person killed by a car in Maspeth; another murdered in Ridgewood

It was a deadly Saturday within the confines of the 104th Precinct.

Shortly before 11:30 a.m., Angela Hurtado, 68, of Elmhurst, was struck by a Mitsubishi Montero SUV as she attempted to cross Grand Avenue at the intersection of 69th Place in Maspeth. 

When the responding officers and emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene, Hurtado was suffering from trauma to her head and body, authorities said.

She was transported to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where she was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

Hurtado was hit by Abel Tinoco, 28, of Richmond Hill, as he attempted to make a left turn from 69th Place onto Grand Avenue, according to authorities.

Tinoco was arrested at the scene and later charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, police said.

In Glendale, the body of Emilliano Llames, 26, of Brooklyn, was discovered shortly after 2 a.m. by responding officers in front of 81-07 Cypress Hill St., according to police.

Llames was found to be unconscious and suffering from multiple stab wounds to the chest. 

He was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, authorities said.

There have been no arrests and an investigation is ongoing, police said.
