Highland Park, the 141-acre green space separating Glendale and Brooklyn, was the scene of a gang attack this spring, according to Brooklyn’s 75th Precinct.
Police have placed posters throughout the park, seeking information on the May 18 attack in broad daylight.
According to the leaflets, approximately 10 men in their late teens and early 20s armed with sticks and canes attacked three men in three separate incidents throughout the park.
According to reports, the first victim, an 18-year-old man, was slashed four times in the left arm and required 40 stitches to close the gashes.
The second victim, a 17-year-old boy, was playing basketball when he was shot in the hip after one of the suspects asked if he was a member of Trinitarios, an area street gang.
A 20-year-old man also was shot in the chest while he attempted to flee after hearing gunshots.
Anyone with information on the attacks is asked to contact the 75th Precinct at (718) 827-3548.
