Christ the King celebrates

In honor of its 50th Anniversary Golden Jubilee, Christ the King Regional High School celebrated with a gala dinner dance, a production of CK Musical Theatre’s “Beauty & the Beast” and a Sunday mass followed by a luncheon.

“The 50th Anniversary Jubilee of Christ the King is a testament of the strength and vision of the school,” Serphin Maltese, the chairman of the school’s Board of Trustees, said.

The school’s math team, above left, won first place in the New York State Mathematics League where they competed against more than 200 schools. More than 40 members competed over the course of the school year. Christ the King was the top parochial school in the state and placed third overall.

The private Catholic high school is located in Middle Village and became coeducational in 1973. There are currently about 1,000 students enrolled.
