A Middle Village ice cream truck driver is facing sex abuse charges after he allegedly fondled an 11-year-old girl while operating his vehicle on Long Island last month.

The Suffolk County Police Department said Muhammad Chaudhry, 63, allegedly fondled the girl while she was purchasing ice cream from him in Wyandanch, about 35 miles from Middle Village, on May 21.

Chaudhry was arrested last Wednesday afternoon in Wyandanch and charged with first-degree sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

The Middle Village resident walked out of a Central Islip courthouse after being arraigned with a white sheet over his head to hide his face.

According to a News 12 article, Chaudhry admitted to a reporter that he fondled the victim, but the Suffolk County district attorney would not confirm the report.

If convicted, the ice cream man faces between two and seven years in prison.

The District Attorney’s Office said police are investigating whether Chaudhry abused additional victims.
