Community Board 4’s Dec. 17 meeting in Corona was plagued by poor attendance by its members, as the board failed to gain a quorum and subsequently did not have the ability to vote on any issues.
District Manager Christian Cassagnol and Chairman Louis Walker sternly spoke to fellow board members, urging better attendance at future meetings or else members would be removed from the board.
“We’re having a very big issue when it comes to board member attendance specifically at committee meetings,” Cassagnol said. “There were two committee meetings in the last month where only the chairperson showed up.”
“We have a new borough president coming in and she’s going to draw a line in the sand when it comes to attendance,” Walker added. “Those people who don’t come often enough will be removed.”
They were unable to vote on a liquor license application and, after hearing a short presentation regarding a soon-to-be-announced composting program at Queens Botanical Garden, the meeting ended within 45 minutes.
