To these two alleged burglars, stealing cash is for the birds.

According to police, a Rego Park dental office and a pet store were broken into by two white men between the ages of 17 and 20 around 3 a.m. on May 28, with birds being the only booty they made off with.

The duo first made their way into a dental office at 94-24 63 Drive at 2:52 a.m., but escaped without stealing anything.

Around 30 minutes later, they broke into Petland Discounts at 94-18 63 Drive, where they stole birds and their cages, authorities said.

According to reports, a few finches, canaries and a small parrot were the victims of the brazen alleged petnapping.

The birds were later recovered.

Both suspects were wearing light-colored T-shirts and are described as being between 5 feet, 8 inches and 5 feet, 11 inches tall.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 577-8477.
