Central Queens: Dead driver was shot

Police responding to a car accident on Sunday discovered that the driver of of one of the vehicles had been shot.

Tesfari Davis, 32, of 98th Place in Corona, was discovered to have a gunshot wound to his neck and multiple gunshot wounds to one leg. He was pronounced dead at Elmhurst Hospital Center.

Police said officers from the 110th Precinct responded to a 911 call summoning them to the intersection of the Horace Harding Expressway and Junction Boulevard at the edge of Rego Park and Corona, just after 8:30 p.m.

Police said Davis’s 1997 Acura sedan had crashed into another vehicle.

The casse has been ruled a homicide. and the investigation remains open.
